Matina Beck born September 21, 1979 won three silver medals in the Turin 2006 Winter Olympics. She won these medals in the 15 km individual, 10 km pursuit and 4×6 km relay categories.
Although age is not on her side, she is a strong contender to win gold in these three categories in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. She is only 158cms tall, but is renowned for her shooting ability. She lives in Mittenwald in Bavaria.
