Heike Gabriela Drechsler is the only woman to have won two Olympic gold medals in the long jump event. She won gold in 1992 and again in the 2000 Summer Olympics.
She was born in 1964 in a place called Gera which was then in East Germany. Her first Olympics was the 1988 Seoul Olympics and she won silver in the long jump event and bronze in the 100m and 200m events during this Olympics.

Johnny Weissmuller born June 2 1904 was considered to be one of the world's best swimmers during the 1920's. He won five Olympic gold medals and one bronze medal. He won three gold medals during the 1924 Paris Summer Olympics in the 100m freestyle, 400m freestyle and 800m freestyle relay categories. He was also part of the water polo team that went on to win bronze in the 1924 Olympics. He won the remaining two gold medals in the 100m freestyle and 800 freestyle relay events during the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics.
After the end of his swimming career, he went on to act in twelve motion pictures and was the sixth actor to portray Tarzan. As a result he was also called as Johnny "Tarzan" Weissmuller. He was also equally famous for his marriages. He has married five times. He died on January 20, 1984 due to pulmonary edema.
Emma Snowsill born on 15 June 1981 won Gold in Triathlon event during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She skipped taking part in the 2008 world championships in order to focus her time and energy on the Olympics. Her hard work paid off and she won the gold medal in 1:58:2.
She is also a three times world champion winning gold medals during the 2003, 2005 and 2007 world championships. For more information on Emma, please go to

Zhang Shan born on 23rd March 1968 is a chinese shooter and won gold during the 1992 Barcelona Olympics in the Skeet Shooting event. This event was a mixed event i.e open both to women and men. She is supposedly the only woman to win this event between 1972 and 1992.
She could not defend the title during the 1996 Olympics because the event was open only to men. She is currently part of the sports management in China and is one of the managing member of the Chinese shooting team.
